BEERS Well Balanced
These beers are among the best in the country. Give them a try!.
SHARP'S DOOM BAR (ABV 4%)
Here's a rare thing, a beer that is getting better as time goes by. Once this amber coloured ale was nothing to write home about but in recent times it has become a beautifully balanced beer with a distinct bitterness and a satisfying dry finish. The only problem is that it can be hard to find outside of Cornwall and Devon but one or two pubs are beginning to take it as a guest ale. Currently my favourite tipple.
THOMAS SALT'S BITTER (ABV 3.8)
This lovely beer is full of flavour but is light enough to be a session ale. I would imagine it could be hard to find outside of the Burton area. It is brewed by the Tower brewery in the town and should serve as a lesson to Bass and Marston's as to what constitutes excellent beer. Top marks!

TIMOTHY TAYLOR LANDLORD (ABV 4.3%)
The crown has slipped a tad but this is still a gloriously well balanced brew. Love at first pint! At its best it has a rich hoppy aroma and a complex malt and hop flavour. Worth trying the ordinary bitter too if you can get hold of it.
ROOSTER'S YPA (ABV 4.3)
I have only had a couple of pints of this wonderfully fruity brew but I can safely say it is one of the most tasty bitters I have had in recent years. Look out for this brewery, it is on the up!
FULLER'S LONDON PRIDE (ABV 4.1%)
A wonderful, complex brew with a rich hoppy flavour and a malty base, yet it's ABV makes it a beautiful session ale. Brewed in Chiswick. Regularly on the guest beer list of breweries.
NORTH YORKSHIRE BREWERY FOOL'S GOLD (ABV 4.6%)
I realise that this beer will take some finding but the rewards are worth while. A golden, delicious pint, full of hop flavours but with a beautiful malt balance. It is impossible to drink just one of these. Settle down for a session on it, and because it's organic you can feel good about drinking it.
